Here are my favourite Afternoon Tea Party ideas:-
- For your Afternoon Tea Party why not fill vintage teapots with flowers and serve a very special tea in tea cups – Jasmine Delight is Angel Adoree’s recipe for a lovely alcoholic iced tea:
5 green Jasmine tea bags, 4 tbsp sugar, or to taste, 750ml champagne or prosecco.
Brew the tea for 1 minute in 200ml hot water, then remove the bags, stir in the sugar and add 500ml cold water. Cool in the fridge. Fill half a teacup with tea, then top up with the bubbly.
- Display pretty posies of country flowers in teapots, tea cups and jam jars tied with ribbon and lace;
- To make a ‘sweet shop’ – paint some old shelving ( I painted mine in cream, pale blue and pale pink stripes), add some bunting to the top and fill with random jars of sweets. I bought paper bags and let people serve themselves;
- A sweet / dessert table looks lovely filled with an array of cookies, cupcakes, macarons and meringues in colours to match the party theme and main celebration cake;
