Gluten Free Chocolate and Vanilla Marble Loaf

Chocolate and Vanilla Marble Loaf

To make this cake I used the ‘all-in-one’ method of putting all the ingredients in together and beating with a mixer for two minutes. Half of the mixture then had added to it 2 tbsp hot water mixed with 1 1/2 level tbsp cocoa powder (allow to cool before adding).  I just layered the mixes, taking it in turns to add a layer of each colour. It was then cooked for about an hour at 160c.

I used gluten free flour and baking powder, and soya milk.

225g butter

225g caster sugar

275g SR flour (Gluten Free)

2 level tsp baking powder (Gluten Free0

4 large eggs

2 tbsp milk (I used Soya but any is ok)

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/2 tsp cocoa powder

2 tbsp hot water

For the topping: 25g butter, 15g cocoa powder, 1-2 tbsp milk, 100g icing sugar – melt and stir together in a pan. Layer onto top of cake. Drizzle over the top about 25g melted white chocolate.

    • Thanks! I really enjoy trying to think of new ideas to display and photograph the food but it is much more difficult now that the days are darker, the places I can take pics are quite limited!
