Sweet Bitesize Bakes Swap

To celebrate the launch of Bake Me I’m Yours…Sweet Bitesize Bakes by Sarah Trivuncic at Maison Cupcake ,  BakeMe.com  hosted a Sweet Bitesize Bakes Swap.

The idea was to sign up on the BakeMe.com website and then receive the name and address for your  swap. You then had to send them a ‘Sweet Bitesize Bake’ and in return you got to receive some homemade  sweet bitesize goodies in the post. My swap partner was Andrea from Made With Pink and she sent me some absolutely gorgeous mini cupcakes decorated with pastel fondant and tiny sugarpaste flowers and pearls. I was so excited to receive these and they were so pretty!

Unfortunately with the weather being so dull and dark when I received them I found it difficult to get a decent photo and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in to taste them! They were deliciously light and moreish so inevitebly several had been eaten before they were photographed and I do have to apologise as the picture really doesn’t do them justice. Andrea has some great pictures on her swap  blog post so please go take a look :) http://www.madewithpink.com/search/label/Cupcakes

I had sent her some little cupcake cookies decorated with sugarpaste and white chocolate. We were both really worried about our swaps arriving safely and although we had been given each other’s address we had no blog or twitter contact. Andrea asked on twitter if anyone knew me and within an hour we had made contact and thanked each other for our surprise gifts which had both survived their journey intact!  The swap was a great idea, lots of fun and a good way to meet other bloggers / bakers and I’m really looking forward to buying Sarah’s book now and trying out some more mini bakes :)
